I only know Jewel from her song Foolish Games but this one is very beautiful. I love to hear the other Jewel in her. I hope she will sing more of these songs.

My school orchestra played this a couple weeks back for our Christmas concert. We used a piano instead of a harp, which technically is the same. One you pluck the strings and the other you hit keys with hammmers that hit the string.

I always thought of Jewel as a country/folk singer, not that that's bad thing in the least but I was really pleasantly surprised she sings opera as well and really beautifully too. I think this is lovely and I hope she does more songs like this at some point. I guess it speaks to the fact that she definitely is a woman of many talents.

I went through many other renditions of this Bach/Gounod's Ave Maria before choosing Jewel's studio download. Both arrangement and singing are absolutely magnificent! I find it extremely touching.

Well....let the critics say what they want..but I do know this...."no one ever sang it better, while wearing leather pants"! Of this I am certain!

I hadn't heard of Jewel until I came across this. Unlike others on here, I find it to be the most sincere and moving rendition of the piece that I have ever heard. The 'experts' among you can stick with your technically correct versions with their lack of 'scooping', etc. (how difficult it must be to have to take all these mechanical aspects into account when listening to music). It's Jewell's interpretation for me every time!
